Sarah & Jereme - Tocal Homestead Wedding
Sarah and Jereme’s Tocal Homestead Wedding was one of the best weddings I have ever been to, no exaggeration at all!
Everything from the couple, the venue, and the guests was absolutely perfect, and a party sure to remember.
We started off their epic day at Groom prep at Sarah and Jereme’s house. The groomsmen had cracked the fancy whiskey and had music pumping to start off the party mood. Everyone was relaxed and enjoying the slow morning. I was expecting to meet a very nervous Groom, but Jereme was calm and looking forward to the day. After groom prep, I headed off to meet Sarah and her girls at the Barracks, Tocal Homesteads’ accommodation. The Barracks is such a gorgeous place for bride prep photos, with sweeping views across the valley and a beautiful interior with cosy comforts throughout. Sarah was super excited, and her bridesmaids were just as pumped for the big day! After popping the champagne (with a tricky cork), Sarah had a first look with her Dad, which was such a special, emotional moment.
Sarah and Jereme chose to be married under the grand fig tree at Tocal, which is situated out the front of the homestead. This ceremony space ticked all the boxes, as it has views across the venue, ample shade for guests, and plenty of space to move around. The ceremony was styled beautifully with florals by the talented Edwards & Day, and Brendon from Lily Road serenaded the guests as they arrived for the ceremony. After a heartfelt ceremony led by Sarah and Jereme’s pastor Isaac, we proceeded with family photos as the bar opened and the celebration began.
We gathered some drinks, and food, and pumped the music as we roamed about the property for the bridal party and couple photos. One of the many things I love about the Homestead at Tocal as a wedding venue is the countless photo opportunities and spaces available. Everywhere I looked, there was another space I wanted to use and photograph the bridal party in. And they were not bothered at all. Sarah and Jereme had an awesome group of friends, and they group were happy to drink and dance and take as many photos as I wanted. You could say they were a photographer's dream clients.
As we wrapped up our portrait photos, the group decided to practice their reception entrances beforehand. And this may have been my favourite part of the day. Watching the group practice the ‘salmon’ and try and leapfrog over each other whilst laughing hysterically, was a highlight for me and something I won’t forget anytime soon!
We hit the reception next and got straight into speeches before the epic feast arrived. Another great tip for a wedding meal, is to choose the feasting platters; they were INCREDIBLE! Not a single guest was left hungry or disappointed by the meals provided, and I will happily vouch for how amazing that meal was.
The couple and I snuck out after dinner for sunset photos around the property, before heading back to start off the dance floor. Brendon from Lily Road DJ’d the evening, and within about 5 minutes, all the guests were up and dancing. Even the more senior guests were up and dancing, and it didn’t look like anyone was stopping anytime soon.
Sarah and Jereme’s wedding day was full of sunshine, smiles, laughter, drinking, and dancing. As a wedding photographer, this is all you can ever want, and I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of this day. I cannot wait for my next wedding at Tocal Homestead to capture some more loved up legends!
