Sarah & Kane - Peterson House Wedding
Sarah and Kane's Peterson House Wedding was a combination of relaxed vibes, elegant styling, and absolutely perfect weather; what an incredible wedding it was!
Peterson House is one of the Hunter Valley's best vineyards, with an incredible cellar door worth visiting, especially for its sparkling wines. The large, rustic sandstone chapel is a great spot to say I do, alongside the clear marquee that opens up to the night sky, making it perfect for wedding receptions. Everything is onsite and beautifully maintained, which is why Sarah and Kane chose the Hunter Valley venue for their special day.
Sarah and Kane chose to get ready at the Rydges Resort in the Hunter Valley, only a 5-minute drive from Peterson House. Kane was relaxed and prepared for the day when I arrived, and very much looking forward to seeing his future wife! Being a very laid-back bloke, I knew he would be relaxed. Sarah is one of the most organised people I've ever met and the planner of the two. So I wasn't surprised to arrive and see everything organised and the timeline on track. Sarah had her sister Kiera help her into her stunning Made with Love gown before she had a beautiful and emotional first look with her Dad. After witnessing that special moment, I even wiped away a few sneaky tears.
We arrived at their ceremony location at the chapel at Peterson House to an entire crowd of guests eagerly awaiting Sarah's arrival. Sarah was walked down the aisle by both her mum and Dad, which was a special sentiment to both her parents. However, my favourite part of their day was when their fur baby Benji came bounding down the aisle towards his mum and Dad to the song 'Who Let the Dogs Out'. He was also well-behaved, sitting very still during the beautiful ceremony. Sarah had her aunty Juliee from Love is Love officiate the wedding, which was such a special moment for her.
After the ceremony, we headed outside for family photos in front of the chapel. Of course, Benji also had to feature in the pictures, and I always loved having dogs involved in couples' special days. Afterwards, Sarah and Kane had a champagne tower waiting for them beside the chapel, ready to pour and serve their guests. This is always a great idea for starting the post-ceremony celebration, and guests are always on board for a fancy beverage.
With a few bottles of Peterson's delicious sparkling in hand, we wandered about the venue, taking bridal party photos while enjoying the delectable canapes hand-delivered. As the sun began to set, I whisked Sarah and Kane offsite to catch the gorgeous view of the mountains up on the hill beside Petersons House. There's something extraordinary about catching the first sunset as husband and wife, and it can really bring out the emotion of the day. This would have to be another favourite moment of mine: witnessing and capturing my couples' connection when they finally have a moment to themselves.
After we finished our sunset photos, Sarah and Kane entered the reception and went straight into their first dance. This trend is becoming more common with wedding receptions, as it's a great way to kick off the evening and knock over one of the formalities earlier rather than later.
After speeches and dinner, we snuck outside with a few of the couple's family members and captured a sparkler exit and an impromptu dance party. Sparkler exits can always be risky, handing a flaming stick to people who have had a few drinks. But the photos are always worth it. Sarah and Kane then returned to the dance floor with light sticks and some killer dance moves.
Every detail of Sarah and Kane's day was carefully thought out and perfectly executed, making it aesthetically stunning. Not only that, but the relaxed and fun approach they both had to the day and with each other made it a brilliant day with some pretty epic photos. I honestly loved working at Peterson House for this Hunter Valley wedding, and I can't wait to be back there again soon.
